It might just be the best cleaning device ever for around $300.
Vapamore has taken all the best features of their popular but retired MR-100 steam cleaner and packed it into a new eye-catching design—the Vapamore MR-100 Primo. But beyond the visuals, it’s offering pretty much all the high-end technology Vapamore engineers could come up with. We’re talking 220°F tip temperature, 50 psi and a 60-minute run time. The stylish design paired with an affordable price tag and a full lifetime warranty make this entry-level steamer a very appealing option for those on a budget. The primo quickly cleans just about every surface imaginable, and kills dust mites and bed bugs on contact, to boot.
When it comes to price, Vapamore is ahead of the pack. At only $299, the Primo is the best steam cleaner in its price range on the market today. It is both affordable and powerful. Unfortunately, it does not offer continuous fill, which means we ran out of water during our testing after cleaning for about an hour at medium pressure. So that we didn’t burn ourselves, we had to cool the Primo down for about 20 minutes before adding water. Then we had to heat it back up again, which took about 10 minutes. So if you normally clean for over 60 minutes at a time, you may be more comfortable with a different steamer like a Ladybug (more than triple the price of the Primo) these are far more expensive) that features a non-pressurized reservoir where you can add water at any time without cooling the system down. But even without continuous fill, you can be confident that your Primo will not be lacking in the performance department.
In reality, a steam cleaner is nothing but an appliance for cleaning your home without chemicals. So it goes without saying that performance is everything. We tested the Primo on a variety of surfaces and were impressed on all counts. Not only did it clean, sanitize and deodorize kitchen appliances and bathroom fixtures without elbow grease, it did the job quickly and with a level of performance most chemical cleaners can’t match. As with all steam cleaners, we found it important to sweep or vacuum first before cleaning bare floors. For spot cleaning heavy stains in upholstery and carpets, we found it best to clean without a towel cover.

The Primo arrives ready to use. Just add water, heat it up and you’re ready to start cleaning. In our testing, the on-board tool caddy made moving everything incredibly easy. We could wheel the Primo around, move it from room to room, and always keep our attachments within reach.
Lightweight at just over 10 pounds, the Primo delivers up to 50 psi. With a tip temperature approaching 220°F, and with adjustable pressure, no job we could come up with was too tough. We even returned a greasy outdoor gas grill to like new condition without scrubbing.
Thanks to an impressive 18-foot power cord, we found that changing power outlets was unnecessary in most cases.
The not so good
The Vapamore MR-100 Primo does not offer continuous fill. And unlike Ladybug steam cleaners equipped with TANCS, the Primo does not provide hospital-grade cleanliness. Also unlike Ladybug steam cleaners, which convert the minerals in ordinary tap water to crystals that clean and disinfect, the Primo requires distilled water. Using hard water will cause failure and void the Primo warranty.
The bottom line
The Vapamore Primo looks amazing and makes cleaning your home fast and easy. It offers the highest level of cleanliness of any other steam cleaner in its price class we reviewed. It is above average in every aspect, and that’s pretty impressive when you consider it only costs $299. This steam cleaner will do a great job with kitchens, bathrooms, area rugs and bare floors. It will sanitize pet areas including birdcages, kill dust mites and bed bugs on contact, remove wallpaper and even take wrinkles from clothing. Best of all, it will do all that without chemicals.
